CHAPTER 25: A REAL KILLER VISITS
The book not only consisted the family’s household but also
the detailed information of the family members and characteristics, and even
the records of the relatives and close friends of these households. The people
would come frequently and stay for a long time inside. The most shocking thing for
Zhang Yang was that inside the book, there were actually indicated about the
people of respective fields and their influence in those areas, who had to be
immediately informed …
Turning over to the second half, Zhang Yang was stunned.
There were a hundred or more household in the alley and to his surprise this
second half section consisted of the all the floating population inside the
alley, including scavengers, selling vegetables and so on … all of them were
recorded clearly.
Looking at this thick data, Zhang Yang could not help but
look towards Xiao Yuanxing with respect. The amount of manpower and material resources needed to
gather such complete information was simply unimaginable.
In the end, what kind of organization is this?
Zhang Yang looked at the bookshop owner who was pretending
to be concentrated in arranging the old worn out books, clearly, the owner was
in charge of this alley except that he did not know what his specific work was?
“Young man, what is it?”
“Ah … no …. …” as the bookstore owner suddenly raised his
head, with the lens shining, Zhang Yang startled and jumped.
“Do your own thing, you only have a week to look at these
information.” The bookstore owner lowered his head.
“Oh.”
Zhang Yang once again strongly felt that the owner with
glasses looked just like the librarian at the school. The only difference was
their gender.
The information were certainly very important, a week, so he
has a week to remember this account information, and then contrast these data
to monitor the alley which was undoubtedly a difficult task for an ordinary
person.
Zhang Yang suddenly understood why Liu Biao could not find
any men. It can be reckoned that whoever sees that thick account book will
certainly have a headache.
“Can I leave here after this week?” Zhang Yang asked.
The bookstore owner raised his head in astonishment, his
pair of eyes tightly pegged on Zhang yang. Zhang Yang felt a cold breath spread
in the midst of the air, he couldn’t understand why this feeling evolved but
this sensation was absolutely real.
“Cough … cough … I just wanted to look inside the alley, to
be familiar with … …”
“Yes you can.”
The bookstore owner’s eyes relaxed as he said in a faint
voice.
“Thank You.”
The owner’s voice faded as Zhang Yang had already run out
just like a streak of smoke. The shop owner was surprised for a moment to see
that the resident information book was still on the table. His face could not
help but throw a trace of sneer, and without a hitch he grabbed the residence
booklet and put it away.
The alley extended up to more than two hundred meters, it
seemed to be a straight line in distance, but in fact, in the middle there were
a few curves which were extremely ingenious. Exactly a car was unable to enter
the alley in addition to a several obstacles which made it incapable of adding
motorcycles and bicycles.
More than two hundred meter inside, after a small turn Zhang
Yang had a sudden feeling that the surface area inside was not that small.
There were rows of bungalows and some children and women were playing in front
of the houses in the sun.
Just when Zhang Yang entered inside, at first glance he saw
a two-storied building, which was the only two storied building at that place. The
building was located behind a row of crowded houses. Zhang Yang guessed that
the casino was there, because, he saw that the periphery had several pairs of
vigilant eyes.
Zhang Yang was strolling for more than an hour now. Although
the area inside the small alley was very large, there was but only one passage
of getting out, except from the alley’s entrance, no one would be able to get
out.
Zhang Yang wandered inside the alley until noon, then he
came out and returned to the bookstore panting.
“There’s a piece of bread and also a bottle of mineral
water.” The bookstore owner saw Zhang Yang return and pointed his fingers
towards the bookshelf above.
“He he! I just happen to be hungry.” Zhang Yang smiled
obsequiously.
“This is only the first time and also the last time, and it
won’t be repeated. I’m not here to provide free meals.” The owner didn’t even
lift head as he speak.
“Oh … oh.”
Zhang Yang finished the bread in just three mouthful to look
at the time. He looked at the owner sitting on a chair from the book shelf and
reading a fictional book as he was totally engrossed in reading. It seemed that
he had nothing to do with Zhang Yang.
“Boss, My surname is Zhang, and other people call me Zhang
Yang, Can I know your name?” Zhang Yang turned a few pages but couldn’t find
anything interesting so he put the book back to the shelf. He couldn’t find any
other words as he looked for something to talk about.
“Call me Lao Li.” The bookstore’s owner shifted his eyes but
still did not raise his head.
“Oh … Lao Li … …. Can this bookstore even support to feed
people? Evidently, it seems that the business is not that good.” Zhang Yang
glanced at the dilapidated old books above the shelves, it was clear that this
bookstore couldn’t keep up with the internet. So, there should be no business.
“I’m not short on money. I’m waiting for a man here.”
“Who?”
“You won’t understand.” Lao Li with a desolate expression on
his face.
“ … … Lao Li, Song Tao’s here. I’ll get going now.”
Zhang Yang saw Song Tao sadly walked in, he immediately
stood up and greeted Song Tao before escaping that place. The house was just
like a coffin, generally lifeless. Zhang Yang did not like the atmosphere there,
and Lao Li also seemed to be uninterested to talk.
Zhang had bought folders and papers from the bookstore right
away as now he had to do one important thing. After seeing the residence booklet,
Zhang Yang had a thought that Liu Biao simply couldn’t remember all of the
information in a short period of one week, not to mention memorizing everyone who
are familiar to the alley. As Liu Biao’s friend Zhang Yang wanted to re- order
the information in a new residence booklet for easy memory.
…………
“Dong Dong ...”
Zhang Yang was pretty busy when suddenly he heard several
gentle knock on the door. This made him feel very strange, as you know, they
have keys inside the dormitory and more importantly, currently the door is
ajar. A gentle push should open the door so who would still need to knock on
the door?
“Dong .. Dong “ The sound of knocking on the door still
continued. Although the sound was very low, Zhang Yang didn’t know why but he
heard a rhythm in the sound with a hint of firm implication. It seemed that the
person outside was unlikely to leave even if no-one responded to the door.
“Come In!” Zhang Yang had no choice.
“ZHANG YANG!!”
The door had just opened when a voice full of anger was
heard which terribly scared Zhang Yang that he basically jumped on the bed like
a spring.
“You … What on earth…
you doing?” Zhang Yang stammered as he
looked at the doorway, it was Xiao Yiran.
